  • July 23-27

    Advanced Kids & Horses is for middle school-age kids (completed 7th - 9th grades). If you own your own horse and ride regularly or have attended Kids & Horses before—this is the right program for you. Each day, you’ll have opportunities to learn how to “talk” to a horse, learn proper horse-care techniques, and improve your riding skills.

  • June 21-23

    Camp-ABLE is for youth ages 11 - 17 years old with disabilities. Are you ABLE to do camp? You bet! Joy Ranch will make sure the camp experience is accommodated so that all kids may have the full camp experience - waterfront, horses, games, campfire, new friends, and faith formation. A one to two counselor to camper ratio means each camper's needs are thoughtfully met. Camp is an experience every kid should have, and Joy Ranch is going to make sure it happens!

  • August 2-4

    This program is designed for youth ages 6 - 10 years old with disabilities who would like to experience camp and share that experience with a sibling or friend. Campers participate in all the fun camp has to offer like swimming, boating, crazy campfires under the stars, games, and crafts with the security of a familiar face. Joy Ranch will make sure activities are accommodated so all kids may have the full camp experience. So grab your favorite sidekick and head 'em up to Joy Ranch!

  • June 25 – June 30 (FULL)

    The LifeScape Center for the Arts and Black Hills Playhouse Jr. are excited to offer this unique camp, designed for children of all abilities to spend the week exploring their performing skills, having an exciting camp experience, and making memories to last a lifetime! Campers will participate in theatre classes where they will explore movement, music, performance – all which can be adapted to meet the needs of each participant. The week will culminate with an Celebration Showcase performed for family and friends. Campers will also get to participate in fun camp activities like: horse riding, covered wagon rides, pontoon rides, fishing, camp fires, and playing games with new friends - all of which are accessible to all of the campers! Staffing will be available at up to a 1:2 ratio and nurses on site to accommodate special medical needs.   • July 26-28

    The foundation of this camp experience is exploring how campers (13 - 16 years old) can connect outdoor recreation and fitness to their faith while developing a sense of gratitude in their daily lives. Some of the planned activities include: nature study, fishing, archery, camping, disc golf, fitness, and team building exercises all intertwined with faith building conversations.

    Grandparent Camp is for grandparents and their grandchildren, 5th grade and younger—strollers are welcome! Make life-long memories with your grandchildren! Your camp adventure will be far from “campy;” you will stay in creatively-designed thematic rooms with comfortable queen beds and a private bathroom. You and your grandchildren will live an old west adventure as you sing around the campfire, take a buggy ride, and dance at the hoedown while exploring faith in the great outdoors!

    This camp program is for kids (completed 1st – 3rd grades) who are ready to “pioneer” a new adventure. This is intended for those experiencing camp for the first time. Kids will get to dabble in all the fun camp has to offer – swimming, boating, crazy campfires, games, and crafts. More importantly, kids will experience the meaningful parts of camp – making new friends, discovering their own gifts, and succeeding in new challenges like being away from home.

    Kids & Horses is for elementary-age kids (completed 4th – 6th grades) who want to learn about and ride horses. Each day, you’ll have opportunities to learn about riding and caring for horses. You’ll begin by playing “games” with your horse, to learn how to communicate; then, you’ll move on to guided rides.

  • August 6-11

    Middle School Mania is a chance to explore new adventures and grow in faith. Each day you will explore something new like horsemanship, campfire cooking, and kayaking. There will also be Bible study, worship around the campfire and other camp favorites.

  • June 21-23

    Music For All is for adults ages 17-25 with disabilities. Certified music and recreational therapists will create a goal-based program using the wide range of activities available at Joy Ranch. Explore with others navigating the transition to adulthood in a safe, supportive, and faith-filled environment. No music experience necessary- just a desire to participate and have fun!

    New Explorations is for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities living in group home settings. Folks may come to Joy Ranch with a care giver, be that a family member, spouse, or staff person. Take the day off, step back in time, and explore new adventures. Joy Ranch’s barrier-free design means everyone is welcome and there are no obstacles to the new explorations awaiting you!

  • August 6-11

    The Old West Getaway is for adults who have intellectual and/or physical disabilities who come without a caregiver. Joy Ranch staff will pair with groups of 2-3 participants to ensure your vacation is the perfect "old west getaway". Choose from horseback and buggy rides, fishing, pontoon rides, crafts, campfire, karaoke, street dances and more!

  • July 23-28

    Ranch Hand Adventures: Learning to Serve is a program offered to high school-age youth (completed 9th - 12th grades) looking for an opportunity to serve in a camp setting and to learn what it’s like to be a camp counselor. Youth are paired with counselor mentors to guide them in developing the skills needed to be a future counselor including helping camp activities, learning support staff duties, and leading with a servant heart. No camp experience necessary!

  • July 9-12

    This camp is for families with a parent or child with a disability. You’ll step back in time to live an old west adventure as you sing around the campfire, take a buggy ride, and dance at the hoedown while exploring faith in the great outdoors! Have unhurried conversations with other families who “get” what it means to have a family member with a disability. As you look across the campfire flames to the faces of new friends, you’ll feel supported and understood in the unique challenges navigated by your family.
